Exit……..The Rocco!

December 22nd, 2011 · 5 Comments

All you Sunny Rhyl regulars know just how much I love my Rocco!
We’ve had our ups and downs, it’s fair to say.
She’s high maintenance for sure, but I realise that the best things in life can be like that, so she’s always been forgiven.
Only yesterday, I had a visit from the RAC at 6am to gently persuade her that I needed to get to work and her assistance would be appreciated :)

Fast forward 24hrs, and upon opening the curtains this morning something didn’t seem right.
Initially, I wasn’t sure what but I was convinced that something was missing!

Side gates…Tick
Drop box…..Tick
Rocco……. ROCCO……!!!!!!!!!!

Me and the kids rushed outside and shared a moment that will probably stay with me and will definately stay with them forever.
Someone’s nicked The Rocco!!!!!!

Thankfully it was all lighthearted and our plight was noted as an inconvienence at worst.

A phonecall on the, non emergency, 101 police service had an officer in attendance within the hour.

Just before he arrived, a wander around the loca area had us discovering…….. The Rocco!
100yds from the house infact, she’d been abandoned!

She looked intact!
No damage to the door lock. Well, she never got locked :)
They’d broken the cowling from the steering column but that was about it.
All my tapes were still there!
Even my ‘Alchemy Live’, which was a surprise. Surely everyone loves a bit of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ on chrome cassette!
My 10 ‘bags for life’ hadn’t been tampered with! Now there was a quid going begging!
They’d even managed to engage the handbrake, which is no mean feat on a 90’s VW!

CSI were next up!
Again, within an hour.

All dusted down. The cowling was removed for further analysis.

Hats off to North Wales Police.
I know this is only trivia, but the service and response was incredible.
Not saying they’ll ever find the culprits, but my customer satisfaction is riding high.
We even had a visit from the local CSO later in the day to talk about the incident.
I’ve got his card and it was good to put a face to a name.

Quote of the day though has to go to a neighbour who, on hearing about The Rocco said ‘ Bloody Hell, They’ll nick anything these days’!!!!!

Little does she know, apparantly, last night, the little toe rags tried to nick 3 cars in the local area.
My Rocco and 2 Porsche 911’s!
I’m taking that as a massive compliment :)

For the time being,
She’s back!!!!!

Happy Days!!!!

Playing Grand Theft Auto now or what!
    Toe rags for sure.
There was a red Rocco top of St Mary’s drive during the powercut last night and another going round Sainsbury’s roundabout at 8.30 ish this morning. Clearly a desireable motor.

GTA, I wish I’d thought of that for a blog title.
Well, Grand Theft Merllyn should have been the one :)

Could have been me during the powercut, but 8:30 at Sainsbugs was a bit too early.
Clearly there’s others out there living the dream :)
