Dreams Never End!

April 3rd, 2012 · 8 Comments

Well, times change and she had to go!
‘Jabula’ had been for sale for the last 8 months and after several false dawns, she finally sold a few weeks ago.

‘Jim Ricketts Hiab’ was the chosen means of transportation.
A great service and highly recommended!

Having lifted many a boat over the years, Tony’s got an eye for this!

Her new home was the beautiful village of Craster. Just a few miles east of Alnwick on the Northumbrian coast.

With all the paperwork in order, time to hand her over!

There was a great turnout at the harbour.
The hospitality the night before was fantastic and the following morning the party atmosphere continued.
It is custom to celebrate the arrival of a new boat in Craster. The last significant vessel to arrive here, 16 years ago, resulted in a party lasting 3 days. It is still talked about locally :)
This party was going to run and run, with the Rum, Whisky and Lager flowing by 9am and the local pub booked for the evening.

Douglas. the new owner, is a true gentleman and I wish him all the luck in the world.

I’d like to thank all the people that have assisted me over the last few years. There are many of you and I am eternally grateful to each and everyone of you.

And finally, to quote Ice T from Breakdance, The Movie………
“This story’s through but wait for part 2!”

‘Dreams Never End!!!!’

Sad to see her go Mike, but a big weight off your shoulders. Great report mate and a lovely setting.

Driving to Edinburgh via Durham yesterday I nearly detoured into Craster for a nosey at her new home on that beautiful coast but she looks to be in capable hands. A chapter closes, but it’s full speed ahead now Cap’n!

    Onwards and Upwards…
Alan (TV) told me you’d had a brilliant reception from the locals. Will it be a working or an angling boat in it’s new home?

Yes, the welcome was rather special.
A bit of a ‘Whisky Galore’ feeling to the place and the people.
She’ll be used for angling charters in the summer months and potting during the winter.

Just thought I’d better point out, for those who don’t know him,Alan (TV) means television, and not transvestite.

Of course you got a good reception Mike you’ve had an aeriel fitted to your head, or is it searchlight for “enlightening” moments or maybe it’s a teletubbies costume for the welcome party (see last pic!!)

Cheers for clearing that up Tony. Alan will be delighted :)
Notbad, I’ve always wanted a Teletubbies costume. Just for personal use of course!!!
